Three Letters: A Poem to my Nephew

Three letters.
Scrawled in turquoise
across the white.

E M
G

The slanted lines,
straight strokes, and quick curves
reveal your affection.
My name written by your hand.

In the mail today, I received a thank you note from my nephew.
Wow, how his writing has grown.

  1. This is lovely, both the sound and shape. I’m thinking about all that’s not said in this poem and in your post. I’m glad you added the photo. It’s posts like this that touch my heart. Thank you.

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed it Glenda. There is a lot of quiet and my writing definitely felt it was needed yesterday.
